CCP

Information for CCP for 2019-2020 School Year  (NEW!)
There will be an optional informational session for students and their parents held at CMHS on February 7.  This will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the auditeria.  Representatives from Sinclair College will be coming to present general information about the College Credit Plus program in the state of Ohio.  This session is optional, and repeat CCP students/parents need not attend; students/parents who are new to CCP are encouraged (but not required) to attend.

Dates are now scheduled for mandatory CCP "counseling sessions" required by the state.  The student and a parent are both required to attend, even if the student has previously participated in CCP.  Sessions will take place in the auditeria at CMHS for students in grades 6-11 and their families on:
February 27 at 7:00 p.m.
February 28 at 3:00 p.m.
*March 5 at 9:00 a.m. and again at 1:30 p.m.
*Because this is during the school day, parents will need to enter at the front door and check  in at the main office to acquire a visitor's pass before reporting to the auditeria. If you can bring a license/state ID, the check-in process goes a lot faster.

You do not need to RSVP for the sessions--you can just show up.  The student and parent do not have to attend the same session, but both parties must attend a session. With parent permission, a student whose parent is present can be called out of class on March 5 to attend the presentation.

Forms for 2019-2020 School Year:
Sinclair Authorization Form 2019-2020 (Required for all students who are new to Sinclair or were a Sinclair student previously at a different district and are new to C-M)  This form should be submitted to your school counselor.

Letter of Intent to Participate in CCP (This form must be submitted to the school counselor by April 1, 2019, or a student will not be permitted to participate in CCP in the 2019-2020 school year.  This form must be submitted by both new and returning CCP students.  Submitting this form does not mean that a student is required to participate; however, he/she cannot participate unless it was submitted by the deadline.

Current CCP Students
You should be working with your college adviser to schedule your off-campus (online and in-person) courses.  Make sure that you don't register for too many hours; you can take a maximum of 30 credit hours per year, including any high school courses you are taking.  For more information about the allowable number of hours, click here.

Students need to submit their class schedule to Ms. Beres or Mrs. Potts for off-campus CCP classes as soon as they are registered.  If your schedule arrives after December 7 (or is incomplete), there is no guarantee that you will receive your books for the start of your class in the spring. When you submit your schedule, please make sure that you include the following information:

1. Course name (example: Music Appreciation)
2. Course title with section  number (example: MUS 1121-500)
3. Number of credit hours for each course
4. Whether the course will be online or in-person

We need all of the information above in order to ensure that your scheduling data is entered correctly and that you receive the correct books for your course.

Textbooks for Current CCP Students
Do not order/pick up your own books for spring unless you have been told to do so; in most cases, your books will be ordered for you, and you will pick them up at CMHS starting on January 3.  As long as you submitted your complete course list by December 7, your books should be ready and you can stop by any time between 7:30-4:30 on January 3 to pick them up.

Should you drop/add a course before the term begins, we need to know as soon as possible so that we can get the correct books.

Please drop off your textbooks from your spring classes ASAP. They can be dropped off to the school counseling office and should be returned no later than December 13. If you fail to return any of the books, the cost of the book(s) will be added to your school fees.

A spreadsheet will be shared with all off-campus CCP students that shares how each student will get his/her books.  Some will need to be picked up at the book store, and others will be available at CMHS starting January 4.  Make sure that you check the document so that you know where to get your books.
